Meet the nurses at Donview Veterinary Centre!

Jennifer O'Connor head nurse

Head Veterinary Nurse
Jennifer joined Donview Veterinary Centre in 2006 as Head Veterinary Nurse after qualifying from Edinburgh Napier University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2005.
In 2008, Jennifer gained her A1 Certificate allowing her to become actively involved in Veterinary Nurse training. She thoroughly enjoys this and is passionate about encouraging and supporting continued learning. In 2012, she became a student Clinical Coach. 
 
Jennifer enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing. She has special interests in feline patients, students training and quality improvement. In 2015, Jennifer achieved her ISFM Certificate in Feline Friendly Nursing. 
 
In 2022, Jennifer carried out a Quality Improvement study which won the practice a RCVS Quality Improvement Award

After obtaining an honours degree in Zoology in 2005, Lindsey joined Donview in 2007 as a Studen Veterinary Nurse, before qualifying in 2009 from The North Highland College.

Lindsey enjoys all aspects of nursing including student nurse training, and in 2014 gained her clinical coach certificate.

Lindsey has a special interest in Pet Bereavement Support which she obtained a certificate in 2022.

Josie started at Donview in January 2013 as a student veterinary nurse. She graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2016 with a Bsc (Hons) degree in veterinary nursing.

She vounteered at an animal sanctuary in South Africa for a month before starting full time at Donview in July 2016.

Josie enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but has a particular interest in schedule 3 surgery.

In her spare time, Josie enjoys exploring Scotland with her family in their touring caravan, long country walks and canine agility with her 2 working cocker spaniels, Penny and Piper.

From a young age Jayne has always had a love and interest in all creatures great and small.  From horses, poultry, ferrets to mice and rats.

In 2003 Jayne began studying at Clinterty College in Aberdeen and obtained her Higher National Diploma in Animal Care and Management in 2005.

Jayne worked temporarily at a practice in Oldmeldrum before going on to work at an Aquatic and Small Animal Pet Shop.

In 2007 Jayne joined Donview and completed an Animal Nursing Assistant course at Thurso College, qualifying in 2010.  She then continued her education and became a qualified registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2013.

Jayne has a special interest in small animals, avians, aquatics and equine nursing.

Outside of work Jayne competes in PARA Horse Carriage Driving and has competed in the World PARA Championships in 2023 and is a world ranked Para Carriage Driver.

She enjoys riding and driving her horse, Scrumpy Jack.  Also spending time with her husband and family.  She looks forward to her caravan holidays with her 3 dogs, Cleveland, Sansa and Lars.  Aswell as caring for her 3 Guinea Pigs.

Leanne qualified from Barony College in Dumfries in 2003.  Leanne worked in another mixed practice before joining Donview in May 2014.

Leanne enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing, especially radiography.  She has a keen interest in the running of our Small Animal Pharmacy, having recently completed various Veterinary Pharmacy Courses.

Outside work, Leanne enjoys spending time with her family and two labradors Ramsay and Ronan.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Emma qualified as a Veterinary Nurse at the start of 2021 from Edinburgh.  However she started working at Donview in August 2014 as an Animal Care Assistant then went through her training.

Emma enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing from inpatient care to radiography and anaesthesia.

Outside of work Emma enjoys walking her dog, Baxter and stopping him from eating her cat, Bella’s, food.  She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

After obtaining a degree in Animal Care from Aberdeen Uni in 2007 Megan joined Donview in 2020 as a Student Veterinary Nurse before qualifying in 2022 with a Level 3 Diploma from SRUC.

Megan has a special interest in consulting and is currently undertaking a consulting Veterinary Nurse Certificate.

Megan particularly enjoy clinical pathology, having previously worked at Aberdeen University as a Laboratory Technician.

Veterinary Care Assistant

Susan joined us in November 2021 as a VCA Student.  She completed her 600 hours placement in June 2022 and started her VCA Career with us in July 2022.

Previously Susan was a full time mum and decided to follow her passion to work with animals when her 3 children had left home.

Susan is a keen hiker and you will usually find her climbing a Munro at the weekends having climbed 45 so far!

Kayren started with us as a Veterinary Care Assistant student in 2021. Since qualifying, Kayren has continued with us as a VCA/Receptionist in addition to studying her degree in Veterinary Nursing
